The aim of the Centre is to provide patients with a high standard of diabetes care in pleasant and relaxing surroundings, with a view to improving both health and quality of life.
The Bertram Diabetes Centre was opened in 1989. It was built and equipped with money raised by the Norfolk Diabetes Appeal, and administered by the Norwich and Norfolk Diabetes Trust. The Appeal received a gift of £120,000 from the late Elsie Bertram, MBE, to initiate the project.
The Trust then went on to build and equip the Diabetes Eye Unit. It continues to support improvements in diabetes care and now plans to help in the establishment of a dedicated Diabetic Foot Clinic and Vascular Investigation Unit.
The team at the Elsie Bertram Diabetes Centre is here to help, call us on 01603 288513.
